About Us

RRG is a game developer dedicated to hard-core flight simulations. All our work has been done in conjunction with the world-famous 1C:Maddox Games, makers of the award-winning Il-2 Sturmovik series of sims.

RRG was co-founded by two simulation experts, Ilya "Luthier" Shevchenko and Vadim "Starshoy" Kolosov.

Ilya "Luthier" Shevchenko is an accomplished private pilot and an aviation history enthusiast. His involvement with flight sim development began in late 1999, when he began working with Oleg Maddox on the recently announced Il-2 Sturmovik. Working as a consultant with 1C:Maddox Games, for several years Ilya also ran www.il2center.com, a community website dedicated to building new aircraft for the Il-2 Sturmovik line.

Vadim "Starshoy" Kolosov, an experienced programmer as well as a veteran of the flight sim community, is famous for creating the first dynamic campaign system for the Il-2 line.

After Ilya created several aircraft that shipped with Forgotten Battles, the next installment in the Il-2 series, and Vadim's DGen became an integral part of the new sim, they founded RRG and developed one of the first add-ons for the IL-2 line, Battle over Europe, which added dynamic campaigns over the European Theater of Operations - Normandy, Ardennes and Berlin - for USAAF and Luftwaffe.

The success of Battle over Europe allowed RRG to take on a much larger project, a full-scale stand-alone sequel, Pacific Fighters. Developed in partnership with 1C:Maddox Games, Pacific Fighters shipped in late 2004 to critical acclaim, finally allowing virtual pilots to take part in battles over the Pacific Ocean in WWII and take-off and land on aircraft carriers.

After Pacific Fighters, RRG switched back to Europe, and developed three full-featured add-ons for the Il-2 line, adding new aircraft, ground objects, maps, and large immersive campaigns. All of the add-ons will ship be available in 2006.

As of this moment, RRG is also working on a yet-announced stand-alone title, codenamed Project Galba, which will take virtual air battles to a whole new era. The title will follow the release of Oleg Maddox' highly anticipated Storm of War: Battle of Britain sim. Other details TBA.
